Held in Blue
Held in Blue is an exploration of a single color and just how much can exist inside it.
Soft powder blue washes move into saturated cobalt, electric blue, and deep indigo, forming loose botanical shapes that seem to float across the white background. Fine linework traces the edges of each bloom while splashes and scattered droplets break away from the flowers, giving the composition a sense of movement and spontaneity.
Some blooms are barely there—just an outline and the faintest wash of blue—while others are completely saturated. That contrast gives Held in Blue both softness and intensity.
There is something peaceful about the limited palette, but it isn't passive. The deeper blues pull you in, while the open white space gives the entire piece room to breathe.
Modern, expressive, and quietly dramatic, Held in Blue works beautifully as a statement piece while remaining incredibly easy to live with.
Printed from my original artwork and created to preserve the translucent layers, saturated blues, delicate linework, and organic imperfections of the original.
