Title: "Electric Flora”
This piece emerged like a memory—quietly, and then all at once. Created with concentrated Ranger inks, isopropyl alcohol, and micro brushes on Yupo paper, Neural Garden explores how growth isn’t always linear—it branches, tangles, and reconnects. The forms feel both botanical and biological, like blooming flowers and firing synapses sharing the same roots.
I painted this in a state of sensory stillness, where breath guided every bloom of ink. Through this process, I get to detach from the external noise and tune into the rhythm of my own body. Each layer mirrors the complexity of my neurodivergence—the vibrant, ever-moving inner world that can so often feel misunderstood in the outer one.
As someone autistic, painting gives me a language beyond words. It gives my nervous system something to hold and release. There is healing in this chaos. There is peace in these bursts of color. This piece, in particular, reminded me that beauty doesn’t have to be organized. It just has to be true.
